Amanda and Mike
Christine's photographs of our wedding perfectly captured the essence of the day, illustrating so much laughter, joyful surprises, togetherness, gratitude and love. She was like a long time friend at the wedding, seamlessly snapping photos without anyone noticing her cameras — later people asked us, "Where did you meet your friend Christine?" not knowing she was our hired professional photographer. We were worried ahead of time about how we, such "un-photogenic" people, would feel while being "watched" for the day by photographers. Would all our photos come out with our typical, goofy faces? On the contrary; our faces through Christine's lens reflects the pure pleasure and peace we felt upon marrying each other — no awkward, uncomfortable-because-you're-taking-that-picture faces to be seen. It is Christine's unobtrusive, calm, almost hidden presence that helped us feel natural, and it didn't hurt that most of the time we didn't know she when or from where she was shooting. We felt free to enjoy the day without ever having to "pose."
We both cried looking back at such moving images of a moving, beautiful day, seized so uniquely through Christine's precise lens, knowing that while we had a small wedding, there were still so many moments that we missed or couldn't remember from all the excitement. So soon after the wedding, though, there were those missed or hazy moments; in Christine's photographs, in vivid color and black & white images, bringing back all the joy of the day. When some friends spontaneously brought out their juggling pins, or when Christine accidentally got stuck in the middle of the crowd dancing to the Hava Nagila, and even in unseasonably hot weather (100 degrees!), Christine and Lauren caught it all, somehow being everywhere at once and taking the unexpected in stride. We're so grateful for the lovely memories. Thanks again!
We'll give you a call one day when we're ready to document more momentous events. A baby, perhaps, one of these days?
